Veggies and Skittles

When my son was three he came into the kitchen where my husband was eating raw cauliflower.
"Dad, what's that." He pointed at the veggie.
"It's cauliflower." My hubby responded. My son looked at him.
"Oh, okay." He walked away, his head down, thinking. A few minutes later he walked back to my husband and looked at him.
"Daaad, not CAULIFLOWER...it's CAULITREE!"

Apparently we let him watch too much TV when he was younger because one time my husband took him to the store. He made it to the checkout line when my son started to lean over the cart, almost falling out.
"Son, what are you doing?"
My son, still reaching replied..."I want to 'taste the rainbow!'" Yeah, he got the skittles. :)

I have time...

It was so funny, this morning my son got up 20 minutes after I woke him and came upstairs in his pajamas. I sent him back downstairs to get dressed for school, and 15 minutes later he comes back up.
"Mom, I think I'm ready for a bowl of cereal now." I glance at the clock, he had 10 minutes til he had to leave for the school bus. I look at his feet, no socks, no shoes.
"I think you're going to have to eat breakfast at school this morning. It's 7:30" He looks at me.
"Mom, the clock in the kitchen says 7:27."
"Can you eat a bowl of cereal in 10 minutes?"
"If it's a small bowl I can."
I look at his feet again.
"How about you go put on your socks and shoes and then we'll see if you have time, okay?" He goes to find his shoes, comes back eight minutes later with them on...partially tied, and a reading assignment in his hand.
"I need to read my book and have you sign it." I glance at the clock again. 3 minutes. *sigh*
"Okay, read the book, but HURRY."
Yes, he made the bus.
